ESG/Socially Responsible Investing

According to Pensions and Investments, the value of global assets applying environmental, social and governance data to drive investment decisions reached $40 trillion in 2020.

The number of ESG-themed strategies has also skyrocketed over recent years, and comprise actively managed vehicles, exchange-traded funds and private investments.

Artemis has significant experience  in the sourcing and analyzing of these investments for its UHNW and E&F clientele. Impact investment mandates have included the following:

  • Israeli-based agricultural drip irrigation system that uses gravity, not energy, to channel water

  • Enhanced agricultural crop method venture employing an innovative bio-nutrient application to dramatically improve yield with significantly lower water utilization

  • Development of an optimal SRI policy and portfolio in accordance with US Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) standards

  • Carbon-200 screening facility employed on industry-leading equity separately managed account managers

Our experience with ESG/SRI investing has highlighted two principles that are not often met by standard approaches:

1.

Each client’s objectives are unique to their requirements: a “one size fits all” approach does not work for SRI investing

2.

A truly comprehensive SRI approach needs to encompass both traditional and alternative asset classes including private equity investments
